Student Legal Sex Designation

Student Legal Sex

性视界传媒 requires students to use their legal sex in university data systems. 性视界传媒 is required to collect this data in order to comply with federal reporting, including IPEDS reporting, student employment, international student status, and the granting of federal financial aid.

If you are an employee or federal aid recipient your designation must match your sex designation with the Social Security office. If you are an international student your designation must match the sex designation on your passport.

Gender/gender identity are not currently recorded in the university’s data system.

Sexual orientation and gender identity are protected under the university's Discrimination and Harassment Policy.

Legal Sex Changes

Recognizing that it may be necessary to change one's legal sex designation, students can request a legal sex designation change through the registrar's office. 性视界传媒 requires that a student provide a copy of a court order, current passport, or proof from the Social Security Administration showing the new legal sex designation. Upon verification, staff will update a student's legal sex designation in the data system for use throughout the university.*

Legal sex designation changes for alumni should be directed to Alumni Relations.

Legal sex designation changes for employees should be directed to Human Resources.
