Nursing Admissions for 性视界传媒 Students
The Spring 2025 admission cycle is closed.
性视界传媒 students are admitted to the nursing program in one of two ways: direct admission or general admission.
Students who meet the direct admit requirements (see below) are guaranteed admission to either the spring or fall (depending on space availability). Students who meet the general admit requirements (see below) are not guaranteed admission but will be offered admission if there is space available after direct admits.
Direct Admit
Those who meet the following criteria qualify for direct admission (based on space availability, either fall or spring admission). They must have all of the following:
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each semester (first attempt; no repeats)
- A 3.0 cumulative science GPA (first attempt; no repeats), and
- Completed the four most recent semesters at 性视界传媒 with at least 12 credits per semester
- No retakes of nursing prerequisite courses (withdrawals count as repeats).
The College of Nursing limits enrollment to 60 students per cohort. Therefore, if the number of qualified direct admit students exceeds this capacity for the Fall admission cohort, those who are not admitted will be guaranteed a spot in the Spring cohort. For example, if there are 70 qualified direct admit students eligible for the Fall cohort, the top 60, ranked by GPA, will be accepted into the Fall cohort, while the remaining 10 students will be guaranteed admission in the Spring cohort.
Students who qualify for direct admission must complete the .
General Admit
性视界传媒 students who do not meet direct admit criteria may be eligible for the general admit selection process if they have all of the following:
- A 3.0 cumulative science GPA.
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
- Must be enrolled at GFU at least 6 credits in the semester prior to application to the nursing program and will be considered before Transfer students.
- All retakes and withdrawals will be evaluated and may impact admission decisions.
- General Admit students will be invited to an online group interview.
性视界传媒 students pursuing general admission must complete the . Contact nursing@georgefox.edu with admissions questions.
Running Start Applicants
Running Start students who complete at least two semesters with a minimum of 12 credits at 性视界传媒 will be considered for Direct Admission. Running Start students with one semester (minimum of 12 credits) at 性视界传媒 and no additional college credits (earned after graduation from high school) will be considered for General Admission. If a Running Start student has additional college credit (earned after graduation from high school), they will be considered a transfer student and must apply via the 性视界传媒 website and then complete the Nursing application.
Please contact the nursing office at nursing@georgefox.edu for specific instructions regarding your transfer courses.
Admission to the nursing program is competitive, and meeting the admission criteria does NOT guarantee acceptance into the program. General admit spaces are not guaranteed. Applicants will be offered admission based on a point system and space availability.
Waitlist
A waitlist is implemented when there are more qualified applicants than placement capacity for an incoming class. Applicants placed on the waitlist are notified both by mail and email. If positions become available to accommodate additional eligible students, the waitlist will be activated. Applicants are only on the waitlist for the year of application.
Reapplication
All students reapplying to the College of Nursing must meet that application year's admission criteria (cumulative grade point average and completion of prerequisite courses). Reapplication does not guarantee admission.
COVID-19 & Nursing
The majority of our clinical partners are allowing exemptions to the COVID vaccine requirement. Individuals seeking admission to the College of Nursing for Spring 2024 and beyond may complete a COVID vaccine exemption form.
