Academic Fieldwork Coordinator
Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy
Kate Turner joined the university’s occupational therapy program in 2023 to serve as academic fieldwork coordinator and as an assistant professor of occupational therapy. In the two years previous, she worked as an assistant professor in the OT program at the University of Mary in Billings, Montana, teaching a wide range of occupational therapy courses. In the five years before that (2016-21), she was an occupational therapist for Presbyterian Home and Services in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Turner's career in the profession began as an OT at the Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury, Minnesota, in 2015-16. She earned both a post-professional doctorate (2021) and a master’s degree in occupational therapy (2015) from Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.
She lives in Dayton, Oregon with her husband Jeff and their three children, Lilly, William, and Jane. Kate enjoys cooking, reading, walking, and time with family and friends.
