Prerequisite Courses
All prerequisite coursework must be completed within seven years of the intended entry term with a minimum grade of “C”. Applicants must have a prerequisite GPA of 3.25 or above. Introductory classes do not fulfill our prerequisite requirements.
A general description of prerequisite coursework is listed below.
- Anatomy and Physiology: a full year series (two semesters or three quarters) of Anatomy & Physiology with lab. This may be satisfied with either a combined series of Anatomy & Physiology or separate semesters of Human Anatomy and Physiology classes. Upper division courses such as advanced anatomy and physiology are also strongly recommended.
- Chemistry: a full year series (two semesters or three quarters) of General Chemistry with lab. Upper division courses such as organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry are also strongly recommended.
- Physics: a full year series (two semesters or three quarters) of General Physics with lab.
- Biology: one General Biology class with lab. Upper division courses such as biochemistry, neurobiology, genetics, microbiology and advanced anatomy are also strongly recommended.
- Statistics: one Statistics class. Course can be taken as either math or social science credit.
You can apply with classes in-progress and/or planned to be completed, but the majority of your prerequisites should be completed prior to submitting your application.
